Idea - Speaker Stands from Cinder Blocks
These are typically better than expensive wood or metal stands.
Did you know the bass response of your speakers will be compromised if they are on a desk? They need to be decoupled on solid, heavy stands.
A couple of stacked cinder blocks make the perfect speaker stands.
They are around $6 from your local hardware store or ask your family and friends. Older family homes around NZ may have a few in the basement.
If your speakers move (which is unlikely) add some isolation pads, some kind of grip to ensure the speakers do not move, or put a smaller brick on top of the speaker.
Use the same precautions you would with any speaker stands - Make sure they are secure... will they fall on anyone?! Typically these will be sturdier than regular speaker stands due to the mass.
